SUE HIGGINSON’S CLAIMS SHOT DOWN BY PHOTOS
PRESS RELEASE & SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS REMOVED
April 5, 2024 Ray Hadley interviewed Emma Hurst and while Ray and Emma Hurst of the Animal Justice Party often disagree, they find common ground on the issue of horse culling in Kosciuszko National Park (KNP).
Ms. Hurst is not alone in not always agreeing with Ray Hadley, the team at Brumby Facts are often opposed to his views – but in this case we definitely are on the same page – and are extremely happy he’s on side with putting an end to the needless massacre of Brumbies.
A recent committee inspection involved an NPWS-led aerial survey of a brumby-dense area in the park’s north. After the flight, Green Party member Sue Higginson reported seeing “hundreds” of horses.
I just did a chopper flight over northern Kosciusko (her spelling?) with the NSW Upper House Inquiry into Feral Horses. In just a short time I saw hundreds of horses and so much destruction! It’s an international shame! Kosci is one of our precious National Parks not a horse paddock
PHOTOS PROVE HIGGINSON’S CLAIMS EXAGGERATED
As you heard during the recording above Higginson authorized a press release with the claim she witnessed hundreds of horses – and as you can see on the social media post above she wrote publicly about the same.
Again, her claim was she saw hundreds of horses.
Yet, other committee members on the same aerial tour estimated a maximum of 70.
Those same committee members, including Emma Hurst immediately called her out on her claim while still in the park — yet later Sue posted the same outlandish, exaggerated claim.
As stated in the broadcast above, official photos documented all sighted horses, and a later count confirmed the lower figure.
Sue Higginson has since removed her release and social media posts.
This is just one example of what advocates for Brumbies are up against. Expert testimony about the number of Brumbies has constantly been ignored by elected officials, and some elected officials are repeatedly making outlandish claims.

A big thank you to Ray Hadley for using his platform on The Ray Hadley Morning Show to shine a light on the situation with Brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park. Your willingness to discuss this important issue will undoubtedly help raise awareness and encourage a more balanced conversation. We truly appreciate your voice on behalf of these beautiful animals.
And of course it goes without saying that we are incredibly appreciative of all Emma Hurst, MP has done to try to stop the current massacre of Brumbies.

YOU CAN HELP STOP THIS BARBARIC INHUMANE SLAUGHTER
A wild horse has the same capacity to feel pain and fear as a native animal, and their lives deserve the same level of dignity and respect.
We need to find a way to protect the native animals at risk, without hunting down Brumbies with helicopters, ground shooting or hauling them to be slaughtered at knackeries.
We urge you to join us in demanding the NSW government stop this cruel cull and adopt humane, non-lethal solutions.
1. Contact the PM & the MPs responsible: Make your voice heard! Demand an end to your tax dollars being used to massacre Brumbies.
2. Sign this petition: Show the government the overwhelming public opposition to this barbaric practice. BUT hurry before it's too late.
3. Contact the RSPCA NSW: Wild horses are suffering under RSPCA NSW inaction. Take a stand. Add your voice - fill out a quick form and urge others to join you.
4. Donate: We are a volunteer-run organization relying on your support to end this cruelty. Every donation -- no matter what size -- gets us closer to our goal.
